Melanie Griem, MD

Dr. Melanie Griem is a board-certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist who has been in practice in Northwest Indiana since 1995. She joined Illinois Dermatology Institute in March 2019.

Dr. Griem graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Bowdoin College with a degree in Mathematics. She received her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. After a medical internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, she finished her dermatology training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She returned to the University of Chicago for her fellowship training in dermatopathology. Dr. Griem is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology

Dr. Griem has strong ties to Northwest Indiana having grown up in the area. She values the relationships she has built over the years with her patients. She strives to teach her patients to better understand their skin problems. Dr. Griem takes a kind and respectful approach, listening to the concerns her patients have about their skin conditions. Dr. Griem wants to be a partner with each patient she sees, as they work towards better health and best results for their skin problems. Dr. Griem thinks about each patient’s needs, with attention to keep the dermatology care she provides accessible and affordable.
