Education
Dr. Evan Stokar is a board-certified Dermatologist and board-certified Dermatopathologist who joined Illinois Dermatology Institute in August 2021. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, he completed the majority of his training in Illinois including his medical school education at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he was elected into the distinguished Gold Humanism Honor Society by his fellow peers. After graduation from medical school, he completed his medical internship at Loyola University Medical Center. He went on to complete his Dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital, where he held many leadership roles including a shared chief resident title his final year. Following residency, Dr. Stokar completed a fellowship in Dermatopathology at the prestigious Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University in New York.
Being double-boarded in Dermatology and Dermatopathology gives Dr. Stokar unique perspective, allowing him to treat patients with skin conditions in the office in addition to diagnosing skin biopsies by examination under a microscope.
Outside of work, Dr. Stokar can be found spending time with his wife who is a pediatrician and their two boys. He enjoys playing or watching all levels of basketball and running on the lake.
