David Rosenfeld, MD

Dr. David Rosenfeld is a double board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon who joined Illinois Dermatology Institute in August 2026. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, he earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine before completing his internship, dermatology residency, and serving as chief resident at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.

Dr. Rosenfeld then completed advanced fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology at the University of California, San Francisco Department of Dermatology, one of the nation’s premier dermatologic surgery programs and a historic leader in the development of modern Mohs surgery techniques.

He specializes in the treatment of skin cancer, Mohs surgery, facial reconstruction, laser surgery, and complex surgical dermatology. In addition to skin cancer treatment, Dr. Rosenfeld treats a wide range of benign skin growths and conditions including cysts, lipomas, moles, and other surgical and cosmetic concerns. Dr. Rosenfeld has authored numerous textbook chapters and peer-reviewed publications in dermatology and dermatologic surgery.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Rosenfeld enjoys spending time in Chicago with his wife, Libby, their three children, and their French bulldog.
