Dr. G. Michael Lewitt, MD, FAAD

Board-Certified Specialist in Dermatology

Dr. Lewitt is a board-certified dermatologist who received his medical degree Summa Cum Laude from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine, completing an accelerated six-year program that awarded him both his bachelor’s and medical degrees by the age of 24. He went on to complete his dermatology residency at St. Louis University, where he held the position of Chief Resident in his final year of training.

Dr. Lewitt’s clinical focus includes complex psoriatic conditions and the use of systemic biologic and small molecule therapies. He currently practices in Chicago, Illinois, as a partner at the Illinois Dermatology Institute, and also directs and conducts medical dermatology clinical trials through DeNova Research.

Beyond his medical career, Dr. Lewitt enjoys playing ice hockey, performing blues guitar, and spending quality time with his two rescue dogs, Aretha Barklin and Elwood Blues.

Andrew Mastro, PA-C

Certified Physician Assistant

Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Andrew completed his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Indiana University, Bloomington, and went on to complete his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Rush University College of Health Sciences. He continues to stay connected to Rush University as a guest lecturer and preceptor for PA students.

Andrew’s expertise covers a broad spectrum of medical and cosmetic dermatology for patients of all ages. His skills include mole evaluations, excisions, shave and punch biopsies, and cosmetic procedures such as neurotoxins, laser treatments, and glycolic peels. He takes pride in developing strong patient relationships and strives to help every patient look and feel their best. His particular clinical interests include procedural dermatology, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis.

Since joining DeNova Research in September 2020, Andrew has served as a sub-investigator on numerous dermatology clinical trials.

Outside of his professional work, Andrew is passionate about art, enjoys competing as a triathlete, and loves attending live music performances.

Kaitlyn O’Donoghue and Maggie Lynch

Research Coordinators

Kaitlyn O’Donoghue and Maggie Lynch are research coordinators who share a love for clinical research and patient care. Kaitlyn studied Finance and Pre-Medicine at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and hopes to become a dermatology physician assistant.

Maggie graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Psychology and is hoping to attend medical school in the future. Both gained valuable research experience during their undergraduate years and are excited to continue working in a field that makes a difference.
